Hospice winners announced in Third Sector Awards 2015

Sep 28, 2015

Two hospices have triumphed in this year’s Third Sector Awards.

Dallas Pounds, Chief Executive of Royal Trinity Hospice in London won ‘Rising Chief Executive’ Award for her transformative work at the organisation.

Keech Hospice Care in Luton won the Annual Report award for its innovative report 'A story like no other'. It sought to present its activities and achievements in a more meaningful way in the report, which included a foreword written by a 10 year old child supported by the hospice, instead of its chairman and chief executive.

Commenting on the awards, Antonia Bunnin, Director of Hospice Support and Development at Hospice UK said:

“We are delighted to see two hospices achieve success in this year’s Third Sector awards, which recognise excellence in charities. We offer our congratulations to both hospices and also to the other hospices that were short-listed for the awards.

“This success highlights the high calibre of staff and thriving spirit of innovation in the hospice sector where there is clearly a keen appetite for trying out new approaches that get results.”

Julia’s House was shortlisted in the awards for its ‘Breakthrough of the Year' category and Royal Trinity Hospice’s Chairman Derek Wyatt was shortlisted for the 'Charity Chair of the Year' Award.
