“She has impressive experience in both internal and external communications and a strong track record of delivering impactful charity campaigns.
“Sue will lead a step-change in our communications, championing hospice care publicly to reach new audiences and strengthening engagement with our members to amplify the collective voice of the hospice care movement.
“She will be instrumental in ensuring that hospices are positioned more prominently with leading health and social care decision-makers and are viewed as providing a key solution to current and future challenges in end of life care. We look forward to having her on board.”
Commenting on her appointment, Sue Wixley said:
“I am thrilled to be joining the Hospice UK team. I look forward to working with hospices to build awareness at a national level of their vital work and to stimulate a conversation with the public and with policy-makers about what care at the end of life means for all of us.
“With our health and social care system under enormous pressure, the compassion, professionalism and adaptability of the hospice movement is now more important than ever.”
Sue will begin working at Hospice UK in mid December.
