Cate originally trained as a nurse but soon found a fascination with pharmacology and joined the pharmaceutical industry. Her career started with Sandoz, which merged with Ciba Geigy to become the pharma giant Novartis.
During this period Cate worked on the management team responsible for the integration of the UK drug portfolio and sales capability. This was her introduction to harnessing change and crafting unified teams following major disruption to culture and practice.
She went on to work with Glaxo and Smithkline USA during their integration to GSK, commuting between Philadelphia, Raleigh Durham USA and Surrey. She then spent a further 2.5 years in Nottingham with Crookes Healthcare (Boots The Chemist) whilst they prepared for acquisition by Reckitt Benckiser.
Cate eventually settled with the DANONE Group and found that their business model of growth through acquisition meant that for ten years she was fully occupied with change management on a global level with 62 different countries in the Danone portfolio.
The arrival of her grandchildren provided Cate with the ultimate change program, she came back to the UK to be closer to the family and took up the challenge to support and drive change within Pilgrims Hospices East Kent.
