Hospice UK responds to publication of election manifestos

Apr 24, 2015

The main UK-wide political parties have published their general election manifestos.

All five parties have made commitments to improving end of life care in the next parliament.

Responding to the publication of the manifestos, Jonathan Ellis, Director of Policy and Advocacy at Hospice UK, said:

“Some three million people are expected to die in the UK over the next five years, which is why improving care for those approaching the end of life must be a priority for the next government.

“It’s encouraging that all the main UK-wide parties make reference to end of life care in their manifestos.

“We look forward to working with the next government to translate this desire for better care for dying people into action so that all those living with terminal or life-limiting conditions receive the best possible care and support.”
