This post is an ideal opportunity for a doctor with skills in, or a strong interest in palliative care. The post will provide excellent experience, skills and training for anyone interested in palliative care. It would also suit someone considering a career in palliative medicine or building excellence in end of life care onto their general practice portfolio.
St Luke’s Hospice is a multi-disciplinary centre, providing palliative care services for Harrow and North Brent, including a 12 bed in-patient unit, day services, therapies, bereavement services, outpatient clinic and community services including 24 hours advice and guidance. You will be joining a medical team with 3 consultants, a Speciality Registrar, clinical fellow and a GP trainee on rotation.
The post holder would work in both the hospice inpatient unit with opportunities to develop skills in community and outpatient palliative care. The post holder will contribute to the 7 day shift working, non-resident 1 in 5 medical first on-call rota with days off in lieu of days worked. Prior experience in palliative care is desirable, but not essential. Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for more details.
