Anne Odeyemi is a children’s nurse at Haven House in Woodford, East London.
Her role is very varied - as well as reading singing, and taking the children out to play in the gardens, she has helped to create a scheme with pharmacists to monitor children’s medication.
“When I saw the advert for nurses at Haven House, I applied knowing I was coming to a place where I could be the nurse I always wanted to be.
"It is challenging as it requires a high level of skill, but rewarding when you see the difference you make to children and their families every single day.
"I lead on medicine management which is a very exciting role, it gives me the opportunity to liaise with parents and other health care professionals involved in the care of the child.
"A children’s hospice is all about providing wonderful care to children and their families and creating special memories.”
