Airbus: taking hospice care under their wing.

Airbus in the UK launch

Hospice UK was chosen by employees to be Airbus in the UK’s national charity partner following an employee vote. We have worked together over the past two years to raise funds and support hospice care.

How our partnership worked

Airbus employees have raised vital funds for Hospice UK so that we can continue to support over 220 hospices across the UK, to deliver the specialised support and care families and patients need. Together we are working to make sure hospice care is there for everyone who needs it.

The partnership has directly benefited seven local hospices in Bristol and the North West and Cheshire, in the communities in which Airbus employees live and work.

What we have achieved?

Through a bespoke volunteering initiative the people working at Airbus have developed their professional skills, got their hands dirty in the hospice gardens, and volunteered at local events such as Midnight Walks and Colour Runs.

As well as hosting Charity Challenge Gala Dinners that raised a fantastic amount of money, employees have fundraised tirelessly by taking part in Hospice UK’s quarterly fundraising campaigns as well as signing up to take part in a variety of events.

Employees have cycled, climbed and ran some of the most exhilarating routes in the UK for our partnership to raise funds to ensure that hospice care is there for everyone who needs it.

What Airbus have to say about our partnership

“Hospice’s play an important role in our communities and partnering with Hospice UK has meant that we can make an impact on a national scale too.

Our partnership has been a great success and given us the opportunity to come together as a business for a common goal. I know that employees have learnt so much about hospice care that they didn’t know before.

We are really proud of what we have achieved, particularly the funds that have been raised, and we hope that employees will continue to act as champions for hospice care long into the future."
Lauren Ashall, Charity Campaign Manager for Airbus in the UK
