Dr Katherine Bristowe

Dr Katherine Bristowe is Herbert Dunhill Lecturer at the Cicely Saunders Institute of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation at King’s College London.

She has a background in sociolinguistics and health communication research and is the Co-Lead for the ACCESSCare stream of research at the Cicely Saunders Institute alongside Professor Richard Harding.

Katherine’s primary research interests are in widening access to palliative care and improving communication in the context of serious illness.

Over the past four years she has co-led three studies focusing on improving care for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or trans) people facing advanced illness and bereavement. Katherine is also Director for the MSc in Palliative Care at King’s College London.
