A Registered Nurse since 1990, with a BA (Hons) in Management and Business Studies and MSc in Nursing, Joy has worked predominately in oncology and palliative care, across a number of health systems.
Her career has included roles in both teaching and district general hospitals along with the private and charitable sectors, supporting communities with both social deprivation and affluence in Northern Ireland, New Zealand, London and Somerset.
Joy has worked for St. Margaret’s Somerset Hospice since 2010 and was appointed Clinical Director in 2015.
Joy has led on projects including nurse education, workforce planning and responsive services. She is currently taking an active role in the development of the Somerset Health and Care Strategy, ensuring that the importance of end of life care is recognised and addressed across the whole system.
