Lizzie was appointed Chief Executive of ACT in April 2005 and prior to this was their Information and Projects Manager, authoring a number of documents, including the range of Care Pathways. Since the merger of ACT and Children’s Hospices UK in October 2011 Lizzie’s new role within Together for Short Lives is Development Director.

In this role, she has been responsible for directing the charity’s new Transition Taskforce project which aims to improve the experience of young adults with life-threatening conditions. She is the lead for research activity within the organisation and is also responsible for the development of the charity’s information provision and engagement programmes directly with families.

Lizzie has been involved in the development of children’s palliative care internationally, as a founding Board member of the International Children’s Palliative Care Network and now as vice-chair of the European Association of Palliative Care’s Children’s Taskforce.
