This years' one-day conference will focus on the related issues of brand and reputation, which are hot topics for charities in general and are as relevant as ever for hospices at the moment.
The event will explore everything from the essentials of crisis communications, to top tips for successful rebrands and public perceptions of hospice care to brand management in the digital era.
Kitty Hamitlon will be joining us and in her session she will share an action plan for handling crisis communications, including what hospices can do before and during a major incident and how to deal with the fallout afterwards.
Kitty reviewed the original Hospice UK’s Crisis Communications Toolkit. All delegates will also get a free copy of the second edition of our Crisis Communications Toolkit, which we are launching at the event.

Kitty Hamilton, Director, KHA Ltd.
Kitty has spent nearly 20 years specialising in media and crisis management consultancy and training. She previously headed Blue Rubicon's Crisis Management Unit and worked at Regester Larkin, a reputation strategy and management consultancy.
Kitty has specialised in advising clients on a wide range of crises and issues including, for example: health scares, product recalls, factory accidents, cyber attacks and special case reviews. She is a former BBC journalist with nearly ten years' experience including Radio 4's flagship PM and Today programmes, 5 Live and BBC News 24.
Madeleine Sugden, digital specialist, @madlinsudn
Madeleine helps charities review and assess their digital communications. She helps them prioritise the channels to use, develop systems to manage activity and devise interesting and persuasive content. She also works with organisations to help them think more widely about their digital skills, culture and strategy to help them optimise their delivery, impact and reach.
She has been involved in a number of crisis scenarios including a significant fire at a university.
She has over 15 years of experience in digital and charity communications. Madeleine previously worked at RNIB and KnowHow NonProfit. For the past seven years she has worked as a freelancer helping charities of all shapes and sizes. She is the small charities consultant for Zurich Insurance and works as an Associate with Zoe Amar Digital and Linda Laurance & Associates. She writes a blog sharing sector best practice and has contributed to the Charity Social Media Toolkit.
