After a period of time without a Director of Care, we have reviewed our Senior Leadership Team (SLT)’s skills and decided that this is the right time to bring back the Director of Care, adding Service Transformation to their remit. We are very much looking forward to this as the next milestone in our organisational development.
This is an exciting time to join our Hospice: our finances have stood up well in the pandemic, our staff have been amazing, we are held in high regard by partners and local people know and love us and want to support our work. Our recovery and transformation programme is just beginning and we need a great Director of Care and Service Transformation to help lead this work.
The Director of Care and Service Transformation is responsible for providing leadership, management, development and strategic direction for the Hospice’s Clinical Service. Accountable for all clinical services, they will strive to ensure the highest standard of patient care possible, reaching all who need our support and ensuring care is evidence based, responsive and places patients and their families at the centre.
The post holder will work with the Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team colleagues, Operational Clinical Leads and Board of Trustees to develop and deliver the overall Hospice vision and strategy.
The successful candidate will be a qualified care professional, and will need to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a leadership role;
- Experience at Board level and ability to work in collaboration with Trustees and colleagues
- Understanding and experience of service development, care delivery and the regulator environment;
- A commitment to addressing inequalities and providing high quality patient centred end of life care to all who need it.
