As part of this year’s Dying Matters Awareness Week we will be welcoming Janet Howkins, a Memorial Artist from @stepinthepicture into our service for a live demonstration on Wednesday 4th May, 10am – 12pm.
Using nature as her biggest inspiration, Janet turns memories into contemporary pieces of art. Offering a personalised service, Janet can include a favourite flower, colour, object and even material from an item of clothing. Other memories may include a favourite place so where possible, she will encapsulate that in the picture.
Janet will be with us on 4th May to demonstrate her botanical relief workshops. Using clay Janet will discuss the role of art and creativity in grief and bereavement and explain the significance of memorials, sharing the many different options available.
