Dr Kirsten Moore
Kirsten has a background in psychology and social science. She moved to the UK in 2014 from Australia where she worked at the National Ageing Research Institute for 14 years.
Her research aims to improve the care and wellbeing of people with dementia and their carers, focusing on care in advanced stages of dementia and at end of life.
She has been involved in research and service evaluation across health and social care settings. At the Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Department at UCL, where she is Senior Research fellow, she has worked as an interdisciplinary care leader to implement the Compassion Intervention to promote integrated end of life care for nursing home residents with advanced dementia.
Recently she commenced a three year senior fellowship from the Alzheimer’s Society exploring the relationship between preparation for end of life and the experience of grief amongst family and friends caring for someone with dementia.
She is a committee member of the UCL Qualitative Health Research Network and associate editor for International Psychogeriatrics.
