How Compton Care has worked with the Medical Examiner’s Office to develop a robust system for referring hospice deaths.

How are hospices across the UK learning from deaths to improve care? What role does the Medical Examiner process play?

In this Big Conversation webinar on 30th April, we heard from:

  • Dr Ben Lobo, Consultant Geriatrician, End of Life Care and Medical Examiner
  • Dr Mike Stockton, Chief Medical Officer and Consultant in Palliative Medicine, who has led this work at St Gemma’s Hospice
  • Dr Grace Duffy, who has been working with the Improvement Academy to support hospices and community palliative care teams in implementing Structured Judgement Reviews (SJRs).

Together we explored different approaches and shared best practice.
