National Conference 2026
In support of our commitment to accessibility, we have taken the following measures to make our National Conference 2026 as inclusive and accessible as possible for all attendees:
-
To support accessibility in advance, we:
- Ask all attendees about any additional requirements during registration and make every effort to accommodate them
- Share event information early to help attendees plan their visit
- Where possible consider timing, travel accessibility and any other potential barriers when choosing the venue for our conferences
- Brief speakers on making their presentations more accessible
-
At the venue - Liverpool Experience Campus (LEX):
- Lift access available to all conference rooms and halls.
- The auditorium features 33 accessible seats, with accompanying bays for a personal assistant.
- There are accessible toilets on all floors.
- Hearing induction loops are available, and assistant dogs are welcome.
- Accessible parking is available at Kings Dock Car Park, close to the venue.
- The venue is well connected to public transport links.
To read more about accessibility at the Liverpool Experience Campus please follow the Convention Centre accessibility guide. If you would like to familiarise yourself with the venue before the conference, please see their virtual tour.
To support accessibility during the event, Hospice UK will:
- Provide a multi-faith prayer room in Room 16 at the Liverpool Experience Campus.
- Have event staff wearing orange Hospice UK t-shirts in the exhibition hall and session rooms to be more easily identified and approached for help.
- Have quiet spaces around the venue for people to go to when needing to take a break from the event.
- Have members of staff always stationed at the registration desk so they can be easily identified and approached for help - this is located at the Cityside entrance to the Galleria.
- Have clear signage throughout the venue to assist attendees.
- Have no formal dress code – attendees are encouraged to dress as they feel comfortable.
- Offer reserved seating throughout plenary and parallel session rooms for anyone who would find this more comfortable or accessible.
- Live stream select sessions.
- Provide live captioning of all sessions.
- Offer staggered registration times for delegates – the night before conference as well as on the day.
- Provide information on lunch options ahead of time to help people plan ahead.
-
Where possible, we share presentations slides and live streamed sessions to support continued access to session content.
