How it works

Webinars

These are online sessions with a large audience, where we will share information about the key issues affecting our sector. They give you a chance to hear from from Hospice UK and invited experts.

These sessions are aimed at anyone working or volunteering in a Hospice UK member organisation.

Workshops

Our workshops are practical sessions that share best practice. They aim to develop your skills in a particular area so you can take work forward in your hospice.

Our workshops are facilitated by Hospice UK subject experts, in collaboration with specialists from elsewhere. They are open to anyone working or volunteering in a Hospice UK member organisation, and sometimes a wider, targeted audience.

Roundtables

These smaller sessions provide an opportunity for people who are interested in a particular topic to discuss it in depth and share their experiences. We will invite hospice leaders to a roundtable to help inform our joint work.

This one-hour webinar will bring together hospice colleagues from quality, patient safety, medicines management, pharmacy, medical, nursing and sustainability roles to explore how hospices can deliver safe, person-centred care while reducing avoidable medicines waste and environmental impact.
The session will use deprescribing as a practical lens for the conversation. It will combine an expert input, a hospice example and facilitated discussion to explore where sustainability and quality/safety aims align and what shared learning the sector could take forward.
This webinar would work well for (hospice and non hospice colleagues):

•    Medical directors, consultants and specialty doctors
•    Pharmacists and medicines management leads
•    Nurses, CNSs and clinical leads
•    Quality, governance and patient safety leads
•    Environmental sustainability leads

Every year we collate data from our members through out Hospice Data and Activity Surveys, which helps us understand and advocate for our sector.
Join us for this webinar where we will share the results from the 2026 surveys.

During this webinar we will:
- share key figures and explain what they reveal about hospice care across the UK
- discuss how data can be used at both national and local levels
- explore ways to keep improving the data and how it can help demonstrate the impact of hospice care
