Commenting on the 2016 New Year Honours list, Antonia Bunnin, Director of Hospice Support and Development at Hospice UK, said:
“The hospice movement has a long history of remarkable and compassionate characters showing enormous dedication to ensure that people approaching the end of their lives, and their families, have the best care and support possible.
“To see those who have given so much to hospice care recognised in the 2016 New Year Honours list is a fantastic start to the year. We are particularly delighted that Martyn Lewis, a Vice-President of Hospice UK, has been awarded a Knighthood – he has been a great supporter of the hospice movement over many years.
“Our congratulations go out to every recipient, along with our thanks for all they have done to so richly deserve these awards.”
