Salary: £25,520 per annum
Contract: Fixed term contract until 31 March 2023.
Location: Hybrid. Our Hybrid Working Arrangement gives you more choice about how, when and where you work best. Contractually based at our offices in London, we “Work Smarter to Live Better”. This means a mixture of working from the office or remotely in a way that balances the needs of Hospice UK, your team and yourself.

You have
- Experience of working in an administrative role handling confidential information
- Worked regularly on delivering a number of HR administrative tasks simultaneously
- Delivered projects and tasks to deadlines
- Knowledge of the recruitment and onboarding cycle
- Great interpersonal and listening skills
- Good organisational time management and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Started, or want to start on your CIPD career
The role:
This is an interesting and varied HR role where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in supporting our people across the whole of the UK.
We need someone who is developing along the CIPD career path to provide great customer service to internal and external stakeholders, as well as ensuring that all new starters get a fantastic welcome into the charity. Reporting to the HR Manager you will be an important and valued member of our small team.
In this role you will support the smooth running of the HR team;
- be the first point of contact for all candidates and new employees,
- carry out recruitment administration,
- manage the onboarding and induction process,
- respond to HR queries from our people and know when to escalate those queries,
- support the employee lifecycle processes,
- ensure that staff records and the HR database are accurately populated, maintained and kept up to date,
- contribute ideas and support for operational decisions, projects and HR initiatives

The team:
Our small HR team provides strategic and generalist support and advice to the charity, covering the devolved nations of the UK. The team are professional and compassionate in their approach and work well by collaborating to combine their strengths. Current work priorities include; recruitment, training and wellbeing initiatives, initiatives to support inclusion and activities to support our people to ‘work smarter, live better’.

Each year our hospice members collectively support 225,000 adults and children with a terminal or life-shortening condition, and provide 72,000 families and carers with bereavement support.
