Big Conversation: Confident or competent? Caring well for people with progressive neurological conditions

Text

Join us on Thursday 26 November from 14:00 - 15:00 for a Big Conversation webinar about caring well for people with progressive neurological conditions.

Hospices are seeing more people with progressive neurological conditions (PNC) and their illness can often have uncertain trajectories. Long periods of stability can give way to sudden deterioration, and prognosis is often uncertain which means providing palliative care can often be complicated.

A thematic analysis of the reports from the 11 hospices indicated that practical experience, specialist input and joint learning increased staff confidence and organisational capability.

In this Big Conversation, Dr Lisa Bushby (St Oswald's Hospice) and Victoria Bartlett (Rowcroft Hospice) will share what has made the difference for their teams. You will leave with a sense of where your own hospice sits against that picture, and one practical step you could take in the next six months.

This webinar would work well for:
· Senior clinical leaders, directors of clinical services or patient care, heads of nursing or care, medical directors.
· The multidisciplinary team leading this care day to day - wherever they work including community, hospice at home and day services.
· Educators and quality leads, clinical educators, practice development leads, quality, governance and QI leads.
· Other third sector organisations and NHS Colleagues
