Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is a registered charity based in Abbey Wood, London providing specialist palliative care to local people and their families. We employ over 180 staff and are supported by around 500 volunteers.
Having recently finalised our new five-year strategy, we have embedded our commitment to empowering our people into our plan and have an excellent reputation for valuing and developing our staff, prioritising the wellbeing of our staff and ensuring we embed equity, diversity and inclusion in all that we do.
We have recently established a new Workforce committee and are developing our People Plan to provide clear workforce objectives for our organisation.
Working within the HR Team and reporting directly to the Head of People, the position of HR Manager offers an excellent opportunity to an experienced Generalist HR professional to join the team that provides comprehensive operational Human Resources advice and guidance to managers and employees within the organisation.
A member of the CIPD, with previous management and operational experience in Human Resources, you will be able to demonstrate up to date employment law knowledge and have an in depth experience of managing complex employee relations issues, including grievance, discipline, capability and absence management. You should be a flexible team player and be willing to share your knowledge with less experienced members of the HR Team. Knowledge and experience of the CIPHR system would be advantageous.
A good communicator both written and verbally, you will have excellent influencing skills and be used to working with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
The Hospice’s Benefits Package includes:
- Generous annual leave allowance, starting at 27 days plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days plus bank holidays with service.
- A defined contribution Pension scheme with up to a 7% company contribution
- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme
- Training and Development to support continuous professional development
- Subsidised meals
