With 20 years of management and leadership expertise, including roles with St Leger Homes of Doncaster, Family Fund, Relate and Link Software UK Ltd, his expertise focuses on technology-related change and organisational digital development.

Mr Thorlby-Coy most recently worked at Yorkshire Housing as Head of ICT, where he led the organisation’s COVID digital response,  accelerating the shift to digital processes and allowing employees to work from anywhere for the first time.

While working at Fir Vale School and Family Fund, he transformed its IT infrastructure, enabling Family Fund to support over 70,000 families for the first time in its history.  As Head of Business Improvement and ICT at Relate, he developed and delivered award winning innovation projects and national digital services, increasing contact centre enquiries by 13%, introduced a live chat counselling service that helped 20,000 people annually and secured £2million income through partnership development.

Mr Thorlby-Coy said: “I am excited to be joining the team as Director of IT & Digital Services. Tech and change have always been my passion, and I love how these have enabled me to get involved in a wide variety of services and projects.

“I'm motivated by social outcomes, things that really make a difference, and love using my skills and experience to help people’s lives, and I believe this role has considerable scope to influence and shape the future of end of life support.”

Hospice UK CEO, Craig Duncan, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Stephen to Hospice UK.  With his breadth of experience, we know he will be a huge asset to the organisation.”
