And this is happening at a time when the need for these services is going up and up.

Heartbreaking decisions

Across the country hospices are making heartbreaking decisions about which patients to look after, and which patients to turn away. 

Imagine being denied care from your local hospice, simply because the funding isn’t available for them to provide it.

Imagine living in a country where hospice services shrink back further and further, because the government doesn’t act to improve their funding.

No one should live in fear of not getting the care they need

Politicians across the UK are considering whether to introduce an assisted dying service. 

Hospice UK remains neutral on whether or not this should happen. But we’re clear that whatever your views, no one should live in fear of not getting the care they need.

And we must make sure that no-one should choose an assisted death in the future because they are worried they won’t get that care.
