Double your impact this Christmas

Text

From 2nd - 9th December, Hospice UK are taking part in the Big Give campaign. Every donation made through our campaign link during this time will be DOUBLED, thanks to match funding.

Right now, people in financial hardship or living in rural areas face severe inequity when accessing hospice care. By donating to our Big Give campaign, you will enable us to share best practise and influence policy to make sure everyone gets the right care when they need it most, regardless of their financial status or where they live.

How does it work?

For one week only –  every £1 you donate to Hospice UK will be doubled to £2, thanks to our match funding.

Everyone deserves the best possible care at the end of their lives. Yet, evidence shows that it’s the same communities most likely to miss out on healthcare during their lifetime, are also the least likely to get the best care at the end of life.

It’s unacceptable that where you live or your financial situation impacts the end of life care you receive. Too many people in rural areas or facing hardship can't access the support they need.

We want to change that. We’re working hard to discover new ways to make hospice care easier to access, for all, for now and forever.

Money raised through our Big Give appeal will help us share best practice and build practical resources to help hospices connect and serve their most vulnerable and far-flung communities.

Tell the story: we will collect local data to show how financial hardship prevents people from accessing hospice care, exposing inequities in care and providing hospices with the evidence they need to talk to their funders and commissioners.

Fight for change: we will advocate for key recommendations on improving equity of access and experience for people experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage.

Support hospices: we will share best practice examples, to help them engage with and deliver equitable care to disadvantaged communities.

Connect professionals: through our national conferences, events and webinars. We will foster peer to peer connection and learning focused on supporting individuals facing socioeconomic disadvantage.

Your support can ensure excellent hospice care for everyone in need, wherever you live. Including families like the Strange family, who live in rural Cumbria with their three children and visit Jigsaw Children’s Hospice in Carlisle for their son Rafferty.

We'll ensure more people receive high-quality care and support from our 200+ member hospices, bringing holistic hospice care to those who need it most. This project will also help Hospice UK advocate for a fairer funding deal for hospices, so that vulnerable individuals and their families can get the support they need during their most difficult times.

Right now, UK hospices care for about 310,000 children and adults living with long-term illnesses or approaching the end of their lives each year. That number is set to grow dramatically in the coming decade.

Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, and with your help, we can make sure no one misses out.

This Christmas, we’re taking part in the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge, meaning every donation made to our appeal between 2-9 December will be doubled.

This means your gift will go twice as far to help us reach everyone who needs care at the end of their lives.

Donate at biggive.org and see your donation doubled, and help us make sure everyone gets the right care when they need it most, regardless of their financial status or where they live.
