The programme aims to help hospices to implement measures that will reduce their impact on the environment and to deliver sustainable healthcare.

What is the programme?

Text

The Rank Foundation grant programme is to support projects that have a direct impact to patients and their families in adult member hospices.

In 2022 the theme is Environmental Improvements.

The programme aims to help hospices to implement measures that will reduce their impact on the environment and to deliver sustainable healthcare.

Grants

Text

Grants of up to £20,000 are available for projects that will reduce a hospice’s impact on the environment and enable a hospice to deliver sustainable healthcare.

The programme is primarily to support capital costs. However, revenue costs that help deliver the capital activity can be included in the project costs. Nevertheless, revenue costs must not be the primary expense.

The proposed work

Text

It is important that the project should demonstrate a direct impact on patients and their families.

Types of projects could include:

Digital transformation

  • Expanding the use of telemedicine to deliver some care remotely

Estates/Facilities

  • Solar Panels
  • Ground source heat pumps
  • Energy efficient LED lighting

Food and nutrition

  • Reducing overall food waste and ensuring the provision of healthier, locally sourced and seasonal menus high in fruits and vegetables. (Could include developing hospice garden/allotment and greenhouses.)

The above examples are for guidance only and we encourage applicants to be innovative.

The Rank Foundation would like to emphasise that, due of the availability of this funding programme, they will not consider any direct applications from hospices or hospice led projects based in the UK.

If you have any problems with the online form, or if you have any other queries about this grant programme, please contact the Grants Team at Hospice UK.
