This lunchtime session is an opportunity for clinicians to consider together the current issues surrounding assisted dying as the political process for assisted dying develops across the UK. With many uncertainties as to what lies ahead for our society and for those of us working in palliative care, this session will look together at some of the issues which are raising most concern across our sector. It will not be a debate about the pros and cons of assisted dying.
The session, which will be closed and exclusively for clinicians, provides an opportunity to listen and to share how others are navigating this time of uncertainty, while ensuring that the vital palliative care services that our growing number of patients need is not compromised.
This is not an event aimed at producing answers, but an opportunity to understand how others from our sector are responding to the very real challenges that this time has raised for us all irrespective of our personal position regarding assisted dying.
