St Michael’s Hospice will be celebrating 40 years of providing care and support to the people of Herefordshire and beyond in 2024.  Over the years St Michael’s has become a highly regarded, trusted and professional charity that the community generously and loyally supports. 

Our premises in Bartestree were refurbished and a new state-of-the-art Inpatient facility completed in 2016.  The charity also has various leased and owned properties around the county (for example retail units, residential accommodation) that are overseen by this role too. 

 

The Role

This role develops and implements the Facilities Strategy for St Michael’s Hospice.  Using your experience and expertise you will devise and promote modern approaches to facilities management that support our operations and provide a good work environment for our patients, visitors, customers, patients and visitors.  You will hold the roles of Health & Safety Officer, Water Safety Officer and Medical Gases Competent Person. 

The role is the charity’s expert lead on hard and soft FM and with your colleagues in the Operational Management Team, you will deliver high quality premises management.

St Michael’s looks for excellence in everything we do, and this includes our facilities management (FM).  This post provides an important and essential role in ensuring our premises are safe, effective and enable our volunteers and staff to deliver the highest quality of care and service to Herefordshire. 

 

About You

As well as being a visible, approachable and experienced FM professional, you’re an innovator and relationship builder.  You will need to build extensive networks and relationships both internally between the various departments and externally with contractors/providers to benefit St Michael’s .

Well versed in Health and Safety law and FM policy and legislation, you will also need to be a good people manager, getting the very best from your team of volunteers and staff.

Salary Range: Circa £40,000 – £46,000

Hours:  37.5 hrs per week (occasional evenings or weekend work required)

Location: St Michaels Hospice, Bartestree Hereford.
