Job description

Working for St Andrew’s Hospice offers a very rewarding career with a fantastic team, with 184 Hospice staff, a large well-equipped Hospice site and 21 charity shops working together to ensure that patients and their families have the best possible experience and receive the highest quality of care.

As a result of a change to our structure to meet the demands of an ever-expanding charity retail trading business (we have a turnover of c £2,000,000), an exciting, diverse, newly configured role has been developed to support our income generating ambitions.

The post holder will be a member of the leadership team of the Hospice and a key manager within the organisation, with responsibilities for the forward planning and development of the retail and trading function including, but not confined to the retail shops but also supporting wider trading and enterprise activity.

Reporting to the DCEO and directly line managing the Retail Area Support Managers, Furniture Sales Manager and, Warehouse, Logistics and Stock Fulfilment Manager, the role is ideally suited to a person with strong operational Multi-site management experience and ideally, a commercial background with a broad range of experience and skills across the range of senior management disciplines.

Charity retail experience is not essential but would be desirable; however, we will consider applicants from other sectors with the appropriate experience, skills and knowledge.  As this role will need to work external to the Hospice from time to time, a full driving licence and access to a car is essential

We offer generous holidays and a range of other valuable benefits within our new terms and conditions with further reform underway for 2023/2024.

As one of the local leading providers of palliative and end of life care, St Andrew’s Hospice is a highly successful and forward-thinking charity with a turnover of over £5.5m, offering both adult and children’s services. With an excellent reputation both in the local community and beyond, we care for patients and their families in North East Lincolnshire and our wider catchment area of Lincolnshire, Hull and East Yorkshire for our children’s services.

In return we offer you:

  • Competitive salary.

  • Contributory pension scheme.

  • Tolls paid for staff who live over the Humber Bridge.

  • Excellent annual leave.

  • Access to excellent staff benefits.
