Job Summary

At the Hospice we believe that every dying person in Greenwich and Bexley should have the best care, support and quality of life possible and that our role is to lead the way by giving expert care, support and education to people with terminal illness, their families, friends and professional carers.

Our services and support extend outside of the Hospice inpatient unit and outpatient services, into the community in patients’ homes, care homes, prisons and in hospital. Our staff work in our own services and in partnership with other health and care organisations and local authority to help people maintain connections with their community and to maximise their quality of life.

We are looking for enthusiastic, professional individuals who are able to support our diverse local population. We offer great opportunities to develop further skills and knowledge in Palliative care and many of our hospice team have developed to more senior roles while they have been with us. The organisation actively supports academic development including Best Interest Assessor, Practice Educator, relevant Masters programmes and other recognised courses. We provide regular clinical supervision and are able to continue participation in the NHS pension scheme for existing members.

It would be great if you have Palliative Care experience and/or expertise in working with children to support the families of our patients, but we will always look at the individual and your transferable skills. You will need to be a car driver to cover both Borough’s we serve and be flexible to work across all of our sites.

We are situated in beautiful woodland grounds with easy access and free car parking.

Membership of the NHS pension scheme is available for existing members, generous stakeholder pension scheme for all other staff and generous annual leave entitlement.

The above post requires the hospice to carry out a DBS check on new recruits

We are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to inclusion. We celebrate and embrace diversity and thus encourage applications from a variety of backgrounds, perspective, knowledge and skills
