About us:
Do you want to work for a dynamic friendly creative fundraising team?
St Christopher’s Hospice was founded in 1967 by Dame Cicely Saunders and formed part of the modern hospice movement. Proudly celebrating over 50 years and with a turnover of over £20 million, we provide invaluable care and support to over 6,000 people across the five London Boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.
Your new Role:
We’re looking for a lively, passionate, experienced mass participation charity events fundraiser. Who gets a real buzz and excitement out of managing big events, developing relationships with donors and maximising the levels of income raised.
A self-starter; someone who is confident working on their own initiative and relishes the challenge of running large events and breaking new ground. The successful candidate will have excellent personal and communication skills, be a strong planner and be passionate about making a difference at St Christopher’s.
The mass participation events manager will raise money from very large supporter events held off site such as walks and festivals.
We are offering a great opportunity to join our Sydenham based fundraising team. This is a full-time position which will require you to do occasional evening and weekend work as required. The role will offer opportunities to those seeking a career in the Third Sector with hands-on experience of challenge events fundraising and working in the community.
Applicants must be comfortable in a team environment and enjoy working closely with supporters, building lasting relationships, and motivating people to raise much needed funds for the hospice.
You will be:
-
Someone who thrives on the stress of organising mass participation events
-
empathetic, able to connect with supporters and be creative in motivating them to raise money
-
tenacious in chasing supporters with their fundraising before, during and after an event has been run
-
a team worker, able to forge strong relationships with people at all levels of the organisation
-
curious, to learn from the wider mass participation event fundraising community.
You will have:
-
experience of mass participation event fundraising and knowledge of fundraising CRM systems such as Raiser’s Edge and Enthuse
-
excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and plan your workload
-
outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
-
the ability to work on your own initiative and be excited by the prospect of new challenges.
-
the motivation to raise much needed funds for the hospice and passionate about making a difference to our supporters.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a local charity with a brilliant reputation in South East London and be part of a growing community and events fundraising team.
.Benefits of joining St Christopher’s
-
You will gain a stimulating and rewarding career with an opportunity to influence and make a real difference in the community

A competitive and progressive salary.

-
Employee Assistance and Wellbeing support – Employee Assistance Programme – as part of a Corporate Health & Wellbeing Strategy
-
