We provide a wide range of palliative care services to people with advancing life-limiting illnesses of any diagnosis and to those people important to them. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a new management team on the IPU supporting the delivery of high quality, responsive, safe, efficient and compassionate inpatient services by being responsible for the professional day to day clinical leadership and operational management of the In Patient Unit.

About the role
As Deputy IPU Manager you will be a core member of the clinical nursing team, responsible for role modelling good care, leading on IPU related projects and ensuring staff are following hospice policy and procedures and are competent to practice on the IPU. You will adopt a flexible approach to a role which encompasses leadership, management and clinical responsibilities.

The successful candidate will hold a first Degree in Nursing (our evidence of working at level 6), recognised Post-registration Palliative Care Qualification (or equivalent) and an Enhanced Communication Skills training (or equivalent). You will be experienced in mentoring and developing people and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills whilst being a team player.

Ideally you will have experience of delivering formal education, carrying out audits and report writing and presentation.

The available role
37 hours per week, worked on internal rotation 7 days a week, including 1 in 2 weekends and nights when required, £41,119 - £45,002 per annum. Please note the salary is paid equally over 12 months and does not attract additional enhancements.
