Hospices across the UK are having to make difficult decisions. Forget Me Not Children's Hospice is one of them.

Text

In late 2024, rising costs, uncertainty over statutory funding and a challenging fundraising climate meant Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice faced a gap of £1million in our finances. To ensure we could protect the vital services that local children and families rely on, we took significant steps to reduce costs and make efficiencies to save £750,000 annually. This included making reductions in staffing.  Inevitably, this has had an impact on the services we deliver and we’ve had to reduce our short break capacity by 35%.

They continue to do everything they can to ensure the families currently receiving support from Forget Me Not get the help they need, when they need it. But they’ve had to prioritise those in most need to make sure their limited resources are used in the most effective and cost-efficient way.

This means they’re unable to do as much as they’d like for the families they currently support or help more of the families in their community who are facing or living with the loss of their child.
