Jonathan Ellis, Director of Policy and Advocacy at Hospice UK

Jonathan Ellis is Director of Policy and Advocacy at Hospice UK, which he joined in January 2007. 

Jonathan has over 15 years’ experience of working in health and social care policy within the voluntary sector, and experience of political campaigning at a local and regional level. 

Prior to working at Hospice UK, he worked for more than eight years in the policy team at Help the Aged, where he ended up as Senior Policy Manager for Health and Social Care, responsible for the charity’s care policy work.

Before joining the voluntary sector in 1998, he worked in local government in one of the first joint appointments between a local council and the then health authority, overseeing the county-wide administration of residential and nursing care placements.
