We're launching a Write to your MS action, asking Members of the Senedd to attend our event on 15 September 2026.

About the campaign
Hospices are a cornerstone of Wales’ healthcare system. They support over 20,000 children and adults affected by terminal illness each year, easing pressure on the NHS and providing vital, compassionate support in the community.
But they face major challenges. Palliative care needs are forecast to rise by 25% over the next 25 years, and many hospices are already having to cut desperately-needed services.
Welsh hospices urgently need sustainable funding so they can continue delivering care. The new Welsh government must take urgent action to secure the future of hospice in Wales.
That's why we're asking people to write to their MS, encouraging them to attend our Senedd event on The Future of Palliative and Hospice Care in Wales on Tuesday 15 September 2026. This event is being sponsored by Sam Rowlands MS.

Hospice care is essential, not optional.
A cornerstone of Wales’ healthcare systems, hospices support over 20,000 children and adults affected by terminal illness each year. They ease pressure on the NHS and provide vital, compassionate support in the community.
But at a time when the need for hospice and palliative care is soaring, the cost of providing that care is forcing many Welsh hospices to cut vital services.
The new Welsh government must take urgent action to secure the future of hospices, and ensure that every child and adult in Wales affected by dying, death and bereavement receives the best possible care.

Mae gofal hosbis yn hanfodol, nid yn ddewisol.
Mae hosbisau yn gonglfaen i system gofal iechyd Cymru ac yn cefnogi dros 20,000 o blant ac oedolion y mae salwch terfynol yn effeithio arnyn nhw bob blwyddyn. Maen nhw’n lleddfu’r pwysau ar y GIG ac yn darparu cefnogaeth hanfodol a thosturiol yn y gymuned.
Ond ar adeg pan mae’r angen am ofal hosbis a lliniarol yn cynyddu’n aruthrol, mae cost darparu’r gofal hwnnw yn gorfodi llawer o hosbisau Cymru i dorri gwasanaethau hanfodol.
Rhaid i lywodraeth newydd Cymru gymryd camau brys i sicrhau dyfodol hosbisau, a sicrhau bod pob plentyn ac oedolyn yng Nghymru y mae marw, marwolaeth a phrofedigaeth yn effeithio arnyn nhw yn derbyn y gofal gorau posib.
