From Open Gardens to Hospice Care: Susan & Earl

Susan and Earl have been opening their garden for the National Garden Scheme since 1996. But they never thought that they would end up benefiting from one of the very services that their open gardens helps fund: hospice care.

Susan's brother, Brian, was cared for at the end of his life by his local hospice - and Susan says that she saw first-hand how brilliant that care was. In fact, it makes it all the more poignant that a portion of the money raised at her open gardens goes to Hospice UK, who promote and protect hospice care for all.

30 Years of Partnership

The seeds of the National Garden Scheme's support of Hospice UK's work - to promote and protect hospice care for all - were sown in 1996. Thirty years later, Chief Executives from both charities reflect on what we've achieved together, and how the partnership has grown.
