Hospice care is so much more than a building where you go to die. Most hospice care happens at home and in the community. It's vital we're there to offer expert and compassionate support to every family in need.
But for one in families in the UK today, hospice care isn't an option. People are dying in places they don't want or need to be, longing for the warmth of their own beds. Children are facing life-limiting illnesses in hospitals when they could be at home, with loved ones. And many families are left traumatised, with little or no support at the time they need it most.
Hospice care strives to provide tailored support to all those with a terminal or life-limiting condition, no matter who they are or what they're going through. We listen, understand and treat people with the dignity and respect they deserve.
It's astonishing that on average more than 325 people a day, who would benefit from hospice care, are not able to get the support they need. And as the strain on the NHS increases, and our population ages, this number is set increase further.
Over 70% of funding for the UK hospice movement comes from supporters like you. With your help, we want to extend the reach of hospice care across the country.
