Submit your hospice's activity and demographic data to help us all have the meaningful and robust evidence we need to advocate for and promote the work of our sector.

About this survey

Text

Every year, we collate data about hospice services. We analyse this data and share it to help promote the work of our sector.

This data forms a key part of our work fighting for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.

It's really important that all our member hospices participate in the survey, so we can all have the meaningful and robust data we need to evidence the vital work going on in hospices at a local and national level.

How to take part

Which hospices need to complete the survey?

The Activity and demographic data survey is for all independent charitable hospices from all four nations of the UK. This includes adults and children's hospices (and hospices serving both).

Marie Curie and Sue Ryder will submit data for their hospices via their Head Office.

NHS hospices (and NHS charities supporting NHS hospices) do not need to fill in the survey.

What does your hospice need to do?

Each year, we will ask you to submit your:

  • service activity data
  • patient demographics.

How will you tell us about the survey?

We will invite hospices to complete the survey via the Data Analysts Network and Hospice Leaders Briefing.

Submit your data

We recently asked you to submit your hospice's activity and demographic data for the year 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025.

You can do so by downloading this spreadsheet.

There are several tabs in the spreadsheet - please read the instructions tabs and fill in the data tabs.

The deadline for submissions has now passed. If you haven't submitted your data yet, please email the completed spreadsheet to our clinical team as soon as possible.
