Watch a recording of our Big Conversation about opening hospice gardens in 2027.

About the webinar

Text

On Wednesday 8 July, we hosted a Big Conversation on why hospices should open their gardens in 2027.

In 2027, the National Garden Scheme will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a major national media campaign. As one of Hospice UK’s longest-standing partners, the Scheme has contributed £8.4m since 1996 to support hospice care.

This centenary presents a significant opportunity for hospices to raise their profile, connect with their communities, and generate income. One way to get involved is by opening a hospice garden as part of the National Garden Scheme.

This Big Conversation explored:

  • the benefits of opening a hospice garden
  • how to make the most of the increased national visibility
  • practical ways to boost engagement, awareness and fundraising

We heard directly from a hospice currently taking part in the Scheme, who shared their experience and answered questions about getting involved.
