Allianz Insurance

Since our partnership started in 2009, Allianz has raised a staggering £1 million for hospice care. Together, we have achieved so much in the past six years, with employees having a lasting impact on hospice care in their local community.

Supporting local hospices services has been at the heart of our partnership, and we were delighted to be shortlisted for a Charity Times Award in 2013 for corporate community local involvement.

How did the partnership work?

Each Allianz office was twinned with a hospice in their local community, with 28 hospices supported across the UK.

Staff across the company have shown real passion and commitment over the last six years, which has seen inspiring relationships developing between offices and their local hospice. Charity Champions and their colleagues across the country have helped to raise awareness of hospice care by supporting both national campaigns and local events. Employees took part in themed quarterly fundraising activities which involved dress down days, cake sales and raffles.

Every year on a sunny September weekend, a group of enthusiastic cyclists rode over 200 miles from the Allianz Guildford HQ to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, raising £10,000 for Hospice UK in 2015

What we achieved

Not only has a phenomenal £1 million been raised to support hospice care in the UK, but employees have given over 5,000 volunteering hours to their local hospices.

Throughout our partnership, Allianz has supported the training and development of hospice staff and volunteers. From financial grants, funding vital research into sustainability of income generation for hospices, and project work on how hospices can support the resilience of their workforce, Allianz will continue to play a vital role in end of life care for years to come.
