Barbara’s day job is in TV but her unpaid, night passion is the charity she founded in 2017 called The Hospice Biographers.

The charity trains volunteers to record on audio the life stories of end-of-life patients in hospices across the UK.

Barbara recorded her first ever audio life story when her own father, a doctor, was diagnosed with a terminal illness many decades ago. Today Barbara continues to capture the precious biographies of those she comes across in her TV job.

To date she has recorded the life stories of the rich and famous, the downtrodden, victims of injustice and those who simply wish to tell their unique tale. One day she hopes to create a national library of life stories in the UK.
