We provide training and policy support to organisations who aren't members of our programme. Our training workshops and webinars are full of practical advice and guidance.
Our taster workshops, webinars and policy support sessions are standalone services designed to equip your teams with practical skills to navigate grief, caring, and serious illness in the workplace. Whether you are starting your journey or need targeted support, our experts provide the tools to lead with compassion.
Our workshops and webinars focus on 3 key areas:
-
Did you know?
- Only 33% of organisations have specific policies or support for terminal illness (CIPD).
- 64% of employers offer no guidance for line managers on how to support staff who are diagnosed.
- 43% of people caring for someone at the end of life say they struggle financially.
Coping with a serious illness is incredibly difficult, and having to work on top of that can make it even harder. We want to help employers put the right policies in place to help those with a diagnosis, so that they can continue showing up to work as best as they can.
-
Did you know?
- More than 600 carers a day have to give up paid work to provide unpaid care (Carers UK, 2026).
- More than 1.9 million people in paid employment become unpaid carers every year. That’s 37,000 people every week or 5,300 people every day (Carers UK, 2026).
- 44% of working carers report their health has worsened due to caring responsibilities.
Caring whilst working is something that many of us experience, but might not recognise it as a full time role. Many workplaces don't have the policies in place to protect and look after the carers working in the organisation. That's why we want to be more active in this space, so that the carers in your organisation can feel confident to take on both roles and managers can feel more confident to support carers.
-
Did you know?
- One in four of your employees will experience a bereavement each year (Sue Ryder, 2020).
- Only 1 in 5 managers feel confident supporting an employee following the death of a loved one (Hospice UK, 2023).
- Less than a third of employees are aware their employer has a bereavement policy (Sue Ryder, 2020).
At Compassionate Employers, we want to speak more loudly about the importance of grief education in the workplace. We host workshops and webinars, tailored to your organisation, so that we can help managers support employees through grief and bereavement.
